Washing & Care of Your Yarn
Congratulations on your purchase of La Lana Wools’ plant dyed yarn. Plant dyes, also referred to as vegetal dyes yield a richess of color with depth and luster unmatched by synthetic dyes. For optimal care of garments made with La Lana Wools' yarns and to help maintain the integrity of both the colors and the natural fibers we recommend the following.
Always hand wash your garments gently in cool water using a mild soap or wool wash such as Eucalan. Gently squeeze out water. Avoid wringing. Garment may then be placed between two towels to absorb excess water. Block as usual.
A word about Indigo
While knitting with yarn that has been dyed with indigo (this will include certain greens made with indigo) you will find that some of the dye will appear on your hands. Not to worry; The color will wash right out. In fact, in Africa women will only purchase fabric if the blue rubs off, as this proves it’s the real thing.
